Bella’s letters stir up a mixed bag of reactions. After spending six weeks at her special horse camp she’s rather profound and has some sort of wise response to everything which is going to become tedious pretty quickly.
Colby, who is still struggling to form sentences in Bella’s presence, reverts to talking about horses and it all feels a little Saddle Club.
She doesn’t want to rely on Colby as a father figure anymore and he can’t believe how much she’s changed. And not just in terms of her new passion for “mucking out”, which is shovelling horse poo from the stalls. Mmm lovely.
Nikau gets a bit sweaty upon hearing the news Bella is back. They were romantically involved before she went to therapy horse camp, plus he’s a little tender about his mum dating again.
He even talks to his BFF Ryder about Gem “spending the night” with Ben and we hear another male character hand out life advice. It’s very new age.
Bella leaves Colby’s letter on his bed, Irene is still in NZ so she saves that one for later.
Bella goes over to Nikau’s house to hand deliver his letter which unbeknown to him is more of a breakup than the open armed embrace he was hoping for.
Colby begins to read the neatly penned letter and a monologue with Bella’s voice speaks.
He nods along and understands that he needs to let Bella be responsible for herself.
Meanwhile, Nikau opens his letter, but he didn’t see the breakup coming which fills him with rage.
Ryder is very busy promoting his gig with Evan the muso. The term “muso” is included countless times in the script just in case we have forgotten.
He too runs into Bella and takes the opportunity to spruik his gig and how much it means to him since his dad is dying and all.
Everyone is still fussing over baby Gracie.
Jas gives baby Grace a piece of carrot because she read on her forum that it was good for teething.
Tori completely overacts and immediately rips baby Gracie out of Jasmine’s evil clutches.
Jasmine’s reaction is absolutely priceless and her epic eye roll somehow encapsulated how Sam Frost herself feels about this story line.
She needs to hurry up and steal the baby so we can all move on.
Tori apologises and Jas responds by saying, “It feels like we’ve been having this chat a lot lately,” so do we Jasmine, so do we.
Tori wants Jas to run things by her first, which seems like a fair deal.
Then we reach our second monologue for the evening.
“My sister in law thinks she knows better than me about my own daughter,” and Jas continues to type away in her precious forum.
At the end of the episode we find Nikau taking his frustrations out on some innocent boxes.
He also up turned up late for work and yells at Alf to “stick his job old man.”
Dare I say he will lose his job and his mother will not be impressed about his outcry for attention and his brother’s will get involved and it will turn into this massive thing.
